Today was nice. I made a new friend! Happens often, but I think it’s interesting that we became friends only today after having known each other for 3 years.
That aside, I explored the Farmer’s Market yesterday with Janet. Hopefully, tomorrow we’ll be making tomato-mozzarella-pesto sandwiches. :D And re-learning Debussy’s Ballet. >///< ~

Today, I ran into Amanda at Pathmark and ended up going with her and her family to Avalon, a very, very pretty public garden. Like Wave Hill, but bigger.
There were lots of sassafras and spicebush! And I don’t know how they did it, but the invasives were minimal. There was only one area I saw with garlic mustard and mugwort. The trails were also pretty well made, although it may just have seemed that way because the slope wasn’t too steep.
I didn’t know Amanda lived in Long Island, but I’m glad she does. I got to see wildflower fields today and I got to sneak up on a rabbit. >///< ~
The people there were also super friendly, kind of like the people at Wave Hill. I met a whole lot of dogs and dog owners. :3 And I got to see a gristmill! I didn’t even know there was such a thing until today.
It’s interesting meeting families that are so unlike mine.
